The aims of this speech are three-fold: first, to provide an overview on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), focusing on its key structural elements, such as transport corridors, city clusters, dry ports, infrastructure, zoning and area development; second, to highlight research trends and agenda of the BRI focusing on transport, ports and logistics in the context of the BRI, and third, to introduce the methods applied to the BRI papers under the review process of special issues of four international journals. My speech also shares with the audiences common weak points in setting mathematical models and applying methods to the BRI topics.

Lecturer's profile: 

Paul Tae-Woo Lee is Professor and Director of Institute of Maritime Logistics at Zhejiang University in Zhoushan, China. He holds a PhD from Cardiff University in the UK, followed by degrees of BEng, MBA, and Master of Economics degrees in Korea. He has taught at several universities around world for 30 years. He was Visiting Professor at, among others, the Faculty of Economics and Politics in Cambridge, UK, Shanghai Maritime University, Dalian Maritime University, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Chulalongkorn University, University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and MPA Visiting Professor at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He is currently Visiting Professor at Liverpool John Moores University, UK.
